Blushes are a great way to change up the tone of your look, you can adjust them to the season and even to your mood. I tend to wear brighter shades in the daytime and during the spring/summer months, and darker shades when I go out at night and during the fall/winter months. My blush collection consists of mostly powder blushes because they tend to apply better and last longer on my oily skin. Below you can read the blushes I have in my collection starting from the cheapest and then progressing to the more expensive. I hope you enjoy!
NYX Cream Blush in shade Natural ($6), this is aptly named for it looks like your skin with a subtle flush. This is probably the cheapest product I own and surprisingly it does a really good job. I don’t tend to like cream blushes, I find them to be more difficult to apply than powders and they rarely last more than a few hours with my oily skin. However, this blush applies easily and lasts almost all day despite being so inexpensive. I tend to have the mindset that you get what you pay for, and I rarely find an inexpensive product that lives up to my very high expectations, but this product performs better than I could have expected. If you haven’t tried this blush already I suggest you go to your drugstore today (it is only $6).
Tarte 12 Hour Amazonian Clay Blush in shade True Love ($28), this is a fairly bright reddish pink. This shade was limited edition but is similar to the shade Natural Beauty. This blush takes more layers to get the right amount of color, but it definitely lasts all day. I love that Tarte uses Amazonian Clay in their products because the clay works well for all skin types, with oily skin it absorbs the oil and with dry skin it moisturizes and nourishes the skin. If you haven’t tried Tarte Blushes before I suggest you do, they have a great shade selection so not only do they work for every skin type they also work for any skin tone.
Nars Blush in shade Outlaw ($30), this has a deep rosy tone that is a great shade for the fall. Nars Blushes are some of the best on the market, I’m sure if you haven’t tried them before you’ve heard of them many times. If you are hesitant to spend $30 on a single blush I think you should go for it because it is worth the money. The color payoff is amazing, just one swipe with a brush is more than enough. It also lasts all day and brightens up your face better than other blushes around the same price. I love that most of the blush shades have a subtle shimmer that gives your skin a healthy glow, and they have 31 shades to choose from so you can find any shade you might want.
Nars Blush in shade Orgasm ($30), this has a peachy pink shade with a healthy dose of shimmer. Of course I bought the most cult product in existence! This was actually the first high end product I ever purchased, and despite that being years ago it is still going strong. This shade is definitely worth the hype, it applies beautifully (like all Nars Blushes), works for every skin tone, and gives your skin a healthy sun kissed glow.
Dior Rosy Glow Healthy Glow Awakening Blush in shade 001 Petal ($44) is a beautiful bright pink. This is my everyday blush because I love that it can be layered from a subtle color to a bright statement. This color brightens up the face like no other, works for most skin tones, and is guaranteed to make you look as though you went to play in the snow (even in the middle of summer). This is my favorite blush that I own, and even though it has a high price I highly recommend that you try it out (you will not be disappointed).
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette ($58), this contains the shades Luminous Flush, Incandescent Electra, and Mood Exposure. Unfortunately this palette was limited edition, however the original Ambient Lighting Palette ($58) became a part of their permanent collection about a year after it’s release, and hopefully they will do the same for this palette. Despite this being limited edition two of the blushes in this palette are a part of the permanent collection, Luminous Flush and Mood Exposure ($35). These blushes have excellent color payoff and set apart from other blushes on the market because they are mixed with Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Powders ($45), giving them not only the perfect shade of blush but also the radiance from the Ambient Lighting Powder. These blushes apply beautifully, last forever, and add a nice glow to your skin. Great to look into if you are looking for something a little different that is still perfect for everyday wear.
